Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!
Did you know that being thankful for even just 1 minute each day can have the same effects as an anti-depressant?
Neuroscientist Alex Korb discovered that as subjects listed things they were thankful for they had a noticeable boost in seratonin and dopamin levels. We actually redirect our neural pathways towards positive response when we practice being grateful and thankful for what we have each day.
1 minute a day? I can do that. You can do that too. You don’t need to get fancy either. Take a minute, think of 3 things, write them down somewhere.
Here’s mine for today:
-The luxury of time to sit and read this book
-A homemade pumpkin cookie
-A chat with a dear friend
What are you thankful for today?
